Triple naming

November 28 was a proud day for Teekay Offshore.

Our newest E-Shuttle Tankers Aurora Spirit, Rainbow Spirit and Tide Spirit were officially named in honour of the beautiful natural phenomenon they are called after. Ann-Elisabeth Serck-Hanssen, Senior Vice President in Equinor acted as the Sponsor for Rainbow Spirit, while Auroa Spirit and Tide Spirit were named by Ingvild Sæther, our CEO. ‘These new innovative DP2 shuttle tankers demonstrate true collaboration between parties and the strong ambition to reduce carbon emission from transportation. Teekay have shown willingness and capabilities to develop a highly integrated ship design together with high quality ship builder Samsung’ says Ann-Elisabeth Serck-Hanssen. ‘Equinor will strengthen its position for safe, low carbon, efficient and cost competitive transportation to our customers with these new ships’, she continues. Teekay Offshore’s latest generation of LNG powered Shuttle Tanker will reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 50%, thereby playing an important part in moving the industry towards a more sustainable tomorrow.
