New 3.5 year contract for the Hummingbird Spirit
Last week, Teekay Corporation announced a new 3.5 year contract for the Hummingbird Spirit Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO), extending the employment of the unit at the Chestnut field until March 2023! This new contract was done in conjunction with the Chestnut Joint Venture’s plan to drill a new well at the Chestnut field.
Teekay Offshore has been operating the Hummingbird Spirit since the acquisition of Sevan Marine ASA in October 2011.
The unit successfully completed it’s 100th offload in July earlier this year and has been operating on the Chestnut field off the coast of the U.K. since 2008.

The Hummingbird Spirit is a cylindrical-design FPSO unit with a production capacity of 25,000 barrels/day and storage capacity of 270,000 barrels.
