The Baleine Phase 2 project represents a significant milestone in offshore energy development, with the FPSO Petrojarl Kong operating alongside the FSO Yamoussoukro to support oil export operations in Côte d’Ivoire.

This fast-track redeployment project demonstrates Altera’s ability to deliver large, complex offshore projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence. It was completed with more than 8 million manhours without a lost time injury (LTI) and over 10 million manhours across the entire project.

In December 2024, it successfully achieved first oil, increasing Baleine field output to 60,000 bbl/d of oil and approximately 70 Mscf/d of associated gas which are exported to satisfy local demand.

The establishment of Altera’s local office in Abidjan marked the company’s first presence in West Africa. As the operational centre for the FPSO Petrojarl Kong and FSO Yamoussoukro, it strengthens the company’s regional presence and reinforces its long-term commitment to supporting offshore operations.

Baleine field is Africa’s first net-zero emissions field development, it highlights a shared commitment to advancing more sustainable offshore developments and supporting the evolving energy landscape.

This achievement was made possible through close collaboration and strong partnerships with Eni, Petroci Holding, and Drydocks World.

Baleine Phase 2 continues to build momentum, with FPSO Petrojarl Kong and FSO Yamoussoukro consistently performing at their best. As we look ahead, we’re ready to take the next step with Baleine Phase 3.
