Amanda Fullerton joined Altera Infrastructure’s Aberdeen office as a planner in June 2024.

As a planner, my role is to make sure that the Rosebank project is kept on track, ensuring that I understand what each team is doing and identifying any areas we need to focus on. It’s a great role as I get to speak to people across every part of the business.

It can be challenging at times, as it’s important to encourage people to communicate their contributions without making them feel like they need to justify themselves. A key part of my role is ensuring that people understand the purpose of what I do and the value it brings to both the project and the business. I aim to create a collaborative environment where everyone sees the benefits of our shared efforts.

I really enjoy working at Altera. I have complete autonomy and am trusted to get things done, which is great.  Looking to the future, I am excited about seeing Rosebank shift from project to operations, it’s going to be great to see the team develop and make that transition. Rosebank is interesting to work on and, because it is a long-term development I have job security.

For me, the best thing about working at Altera is the positive attitude the company has. The team believes in you which gives you self-belief. People are so approachable, and any time I have been struggling, I have been able to ask for help. The attitude really is that you can fix problems, I trust you.
