Following the contract award  with the Basin Wide Transportation and Transshipment System (BWTTS) to provide shuttle tanker services for their East Coast Canada oil production in 2015, Teekay Offshore has now entered into a shipbuilding contract to construct one additional Suezmax-size, DP2 shuttle tanker newbuildings with a South Korean shipyard.

Upon delivery during the first half of 2022, the vessel will join the fleet of our three existing Heritage Class shuttle tankers that arrived on the East Coast in 2017 and 2018.

“The extension of our Canadian shuttle tanker fleet further strengthens our leading position in the global shuttle tanker industry, and we feel both honoured and proud to continue being the trusted provider of shuttle tanker services at the Hibernia, Terra Nova, White Rose and Hebron offshore oil fields located in Newfoundland & Labrador”, comments Idar Hillersøy, President Teekay Offshore Logistics.
